Norwood, MA - On January 30th, community leader and local activist Mike Dooley will announce that he is challenging 28-year incumbent, Representative John Rogers, in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, September 1. The 12th Norfolk District covers Norwood, Mike’s hometown, and precincts 1, 2, 6, and 7 of Walpole.
Dooley has made it clear that his campaign will address issues that he feels the incumbent has ignored. “The first job of a State Representative is to be active in the community you represent, to see and hear what matters most to you,” Dooley said.
He added, “Our district deserves an enthusiastic Representative who is full of energy and eager to bring new ideas to the table.” Dooley believes that transparency should be a cornerstone for all elected officials. “My door will always be open to everyone, not just political insiders and the well-connected. The community should have a say in what their Representative does on their behalf.”
Dooley also plans to campaign on battling addiction, improving public education, and combating climate change. “These issues are important to the people of Norwood and Walpole, as well as the people of the Commonwealth,” Dooley said, “I will ensure that these issues receive the attention they deserve.”
Mike Dooley is an activist, community organizer, and civic leader running for the 12th Norfolk District seat. He has served as an elected Representative Town Meeting member for District 7 of Norwood since 2018. He is also the current Membership and Outreach Director for the Young Democrats of Massachusetts, a mobilization consultant for political campaigns, and a Norwood baseball coach.
